Raw Honey + Honeycomb

Raw Honey

Raw Honey + Honeycomb

A piece of the comb, straight in the jar.

Raw honey with a cut piece of comb suspended in it — the honey much as the bees stored it, wax and all. The comb is edible: spread it on warm toast so it softens, or chew it and let the honey out.

How to use

Spoon the honey as you would any other. For the comb, spread a piece on warm toast, add it to a cheeseboard, or chew it straight and discard the wax if you would rather not swallow it.

Ingredients

Raw Essex honey, honeycomb (beeswax).

Texture & crystallisation

Raw honey sets over time — it may turn grainy or solid, especially in a cold cupboard. Nothing has gone wrong. Stand it in warm (not boiling) water for a few minutes and it will loosen again.

How it is made

This is the least handled thing we make. A section of comb goes into the jar and the same raw honey is poured around it. Nothing is warmed and nothing is strained, so what reaches you is close to what came off the frame.

Delivery & collection

Flat-rate UK delivery is £3.95 however much you order, or collect free from the apiary in Felsted, Essex — we will be in touch to arrange collection.
